Review-Adovia Sulfur Soap for Acne, Blackheads and Oily Skin with Dead Sea Salt Minerals*

Hey All!  I received this product from Tomoson to test out.  I've heard a bit
sulfur soaps, especially for problem skin so I was more than willing to try this out.

Product Description

Adovia natural sulfur soap is highly enriched with minerals curated from the Dead Sea. The sulfur soap however, when used on a gradually increasing level, does not cause dry skin as it is infused with lush Olive Oil and Aloe Vera, as well as sought-after Dead Sea minerals. Softly yet thoroughly cleansing skin with 3 percent sulfur content old skin cells are removed and pores are unclogged. Harmful impurities and oils can embed themselves into the deepest levels of our epidermis and this is one of the best sulfur soaps on the market to target and dissolve them. To help keep skin supple and hydrated, Adovia Sulfur Soap is also packed with Palm and Palm Kernel Oil as well the already mentioned Olive oil and Aloe Vera. That said, it is still recommended to start using this soap slowly so your skin can adjust to the healing sulfur that is not in more common soap products.

Review

So even at my age (somewhere on the other side of 35) I still break out here and there. I've used different moisturizers over the years with Dead Sea minerals that I've really liked so I'm surprised that I hadn't considered using a bar soap with some of the same ingredients.  The fact that sulfur was listed first in the description had me a little bit worried about the smell.  Those fears were definitely unfounded.  It has a very mild fragrance that is familiar but I just can't place.  For the past 2 weeks I've been using this soap at night to help remove traces of makeup that my cleaning clothes don't remove and instead of my usual cleanser. In using the soap itself I found that it didn't leave my face feeling tight and dry like many bar soaps for acne prone, oily skin do, which was a very good thing. So far I have noticed some improvement to my complexion.  I mainly have a problem on my forehead with those teeny tiny little bumps that linger.  I have noticed that they are not as many nor are they as noticeable as before.  I had taken some before pictures but sadly my SD card became corrupted and I lost all of my photos.  Overall I really did like that the soap worked specifically for me and I did see some improvement.  I can't say how it will work for those that have regular breakouts or more severe acne.

Introducing One Direction's "The Looks Collection" by Markwins*

Hi All!  I was lucky enough to receive one of the new One Direction "The Looks Collection" makeup sets by Markwins Intl. While admittedly I'm not the demographic for this line, I do love all types of cosmetics and was fortunate to get the Midnight Madness Collection that had colors I would actually use.  I really wasn't sure what to expect but I did find out that Markwins’ portfolio of brands includes Wet n Wild, Physicians Formula and The Color Institute. All brands that I'm very familiar with and love.

The collection is packaged in a hinged collectible tin that can be reused.  I thought this was cute and definitely something that would have appealed to my teenage self.

The inside of the collection.  I really liked the way it's packaged.

It comes with an eye shadow palette, mascara, lipstick, lip gloss, an eye/body crayon, nail polish and stencils.

I really love the colors in the eye shadow palette. They are great for doing a smoky eye for nights out.  I also love most everything with either shimmer or sparkle and these colors don't disappoint in that area.
I swatched most of the collection the descriptions are straight from the back of the tin.
 From left to right are:
"Best Song Ever"-crimson red crème lipstick
I'm a huge fan of any and all red lipsticks and I did love the pigmentation in this.
"Through the Dark"-Liquilights Glow Gloss-Electric glitter poppy lip gloss that glows to neon red-orange under UV light
A pretty bright pink that pairs well over the lipstick.  I unfortunately don't have a UV light around, but this would have been awesome back in the day when I still went to the clubs on 6th St.
"Little White Lies"-palest warm gray
A nice highlight color.  It is very pale but very buildable.  With a primer it will pop.
"Don't Forget Where You Belong"-soft pink shimmer
I fell in love with this color as soon as I saw it.  Unfortunately it was really powdery when I swatched it.  It seems like it might have some fallout but I'm sure a primer would help.
"Half a Heart"-metal gray
Great pigmentation and perfect for the crease.
"Strong"-charcoal black matte shimmer
Also has great pigmentation.  A good color for that smoky eye look.
"Midnight Memories"-silver glitter cream
It's nice.  This is definitely for the younger set which is who this is marketed to.  Still would look nice layered over any of the other colors.
"Better than Words"-blackest black eye and body crayon
It has a good creamy texture and applied easily.

Not Swatched:
"Little Black Dress"-volumizing mascara in perfectly black
"Right Now"-liquefied metallic steel nail varnish

One thing I really liked was how they added this on the inside of the tin.  It shows how to get 3 great eye looks using the products in the collection.  For younger girls who are learning to apply makeup, this is a great tool.  It's little details like this that make this set great.

Overall I'm pretty impressed with everything in this collection.  Other than the silver glitter eye shadow, even someone who is older (like myself) can use this collection to make same great looks for going out, date night or even every day depending on your look.  I also think that this would be an amazing gift for those out there with "Directioners" in their households.

New Blog

So I decided to start a new blog so I wouldn't fill my current one with reviews, unboxings etc. Since I've moved from Austin to such a small town, subscription boxes have been a life saver for a makeup junkie like me. Online shopping has also been a lifesaver. I've discovered a few other subscription boxes that I'm looking forward to trying as well.  I started subscribing to boxes before I left the city over a year ago, and almost cancelled a few.  I'm glad that I didn't.  Even though I'm about 40 minutes away from San Antonio, I don't have the time to go to the city and back. Thank goodness for subscription boxes and online shopping. It lets me try new things without having to plan a whole day around a trip into the "city".  I'm looking forward to what this new blog will bring. So here's to new things!
